With the U.S. airlines receiving a massive bailout they should be required to reconfigure the seating on planes based on social distancing.
For example, middle seats should be blocked unless the entire row is for family members and the
distance between rows should be expanded which will result in additional legroom and seat pitch.
These changes will automatically reduce the number of passengers on each flight and will greatly benefit passengers’ safety and comfort.
In addition, until there is a vaccine for the Coronavirus, the airlines should extend flexibility and allow customers to change or cancel their reservation without fees. And while we are at it, the airlines should voluntarily re-adopt full service with no fees for baggage, meals, and beverages.
The sky may be falling but let’s usher in a new era of friendly skies.
