Virtual Classes in the Performing Arts

There have been several occasions since the Coronavirus outbreak began that I’ve thought about the many businesses I’ve dealt with over the last six years when I am making the arrangements for student tour groups.  This includes performing arts classes, museum visits, local attractions and dinner arrangements.

Many of these suppliers are in the performing arts field where the bulk of the arrangements are located including dance, drama, music/vocal and art.  What is going in with their businesses during these difficult times?

My online research of the studios I use repeatedly showed a pattern of the fields that were offering virtual online options for individuals and those that didn’t. The fields of dance and art appeared to have several studios with virtual classes available with only 1 or two studios with options in the drama and music/vocal fields.

Just as people around the world have been under stay-at-home orders from their respective governments and isolated from family, friends and co-workers, so have tour operators and their suppliers been quarantined and isolated from their staff and suppliers that have become friends and partners in working to create experiences and memories for people they might never meet – and they did it together.
